206. Dr. Jean Baptiste Prudhomme was born in 1735 in French Fort, Natchitoches, LA. He died in 1786 in Natchitoches, LA. He was a Medical Doctor. "Jean Baptiste was physician to the French King Louis XV who, in appreciation for his services, granted Jean a large block of land in the then French Colony of Louisiana. The land extended along the canr River from Natchitoches to Cloutierville. The home of Jean built on this plantation was called Oakland. It is one of the most frequently photographed buildings in the South." (From Lynda)


He was married to Marie Josephine Henrietta Collantin on 13 Jul 1758.

207. Marie Josephine Henrietta Collantin was born in 1738 in New Orleans, LA. She died on 16 Feb 1788 in Natchitoches, LA. Children were:

i. Jean Baptiste Prudhomme was born in 1759. He died on 25 Jul 1780.
ii. Marie Louise Prudhomme was born on 11 Sep 1760.
iii. Jean Pierre Emmanuel Prudhomme was born on 2 Jan 1762 in Natchitoches, LA. He died on 13 May 1845 in Natchitoches, LA. Builder of Oakland (Bermuda) Plantation.
iv. Antoine Prudhomme was born on 11 Sep 1764. He died on 18 Aug 1856.
v. Dominique Prudhomme was born on 2 May 1767. Left home, never to be heard of again.
vi. Anna Nanette Prudhomme was born on 17 Dec 1768. She died in 1862 in DuParc Plantation, Point Coupee Parish, LA.

viii. Francois Prudhomme was born on 15 May 1777. She died on 18 Nov 1777.
