76. Samuel Reed died on 1 Nov 1823 in Bamburg Co., SC. He was born in Ireland. "Samuel Reed and his wife Mary Clark Reed were born and married in Ireland. They brought their family to SC during the Revolutionary War to join Mary's father and brother who had settled along the Edisto River in the old Orangeburgh District (later divided into Orangeburg, Barnwell, Bamburg, and Aiken Counties). Upon arrival in Georgetown, SC, they discovered Mary's father had died on the way to meet them. It was nearly a year before they were able to get to the Orangeburgh District. Upon arrival, they found that Mary's brother, Hugh, had been murdered a few months before. Samuel and mary Clark Reed settled on the land owned by Mary's father.

"The will of Samuel Reed of Barnwell District, SC, was written Aug 24, 1823 and recorded in 1823.
